Why did the Supreme Court involved in NEET 2019 decisions?

Earlier Medical Council of India has notified that for NTA NEET 2019 registration the upper age limit for general is 25 years and that for reserved category is 30 years. This decision put a great impact on the NEET-UG aspirants who were not fulfilling this age criterion.

However, Delhi High Court said that the MCI norms are legal and valid. The reason was that the younger students had not been given a fair chance, on the other hand, those of upper age who had given the exam multiple times and have much time to prepare. Also, the number of MBBS seats are limited and a large number of students apply for the same.

However, after several petitions and protests, the apex court allowed the candidates those above the 25 years can seat in the exam.

Upper age limit for NTA NEET 2019 registration:

However, the admission process for those age criterion will subject to the final decision which is pending in the court on the validity of CBSE’s decision to fix the upper age limit.
